There's Something Fishy Going On Here...

Last weekend was MP3's 1st Birthday Party! We had cake. We had ice cream. We had presents. We had a nap-less toddler soaking up all the attention he could. I think he enjoyed it.

MP3 had lots of fun with his cousins. Paigey almost lost her headband.

One of his presents from Nana was a cup and plate. Thanks to the cup, we found out that he was thirsty...

Thanks to Bumpa he his now all set for summer. He better watch out though. Mowing the yard is my job, and I'm not about to give it up (yes, I'm serious. I love to mow the yard.).

The Kidlet was a big helper and had more fun opening his presents than he did. I remember at her first Birthday she helped open every present and got excited at every new present. It was wonderful! MP3 however just wanted to play with the paper....oh, and drink from an empty cup.

Mmmmmmm.....paper....

Since one of his first words was "fishy" (or fshzt) I made a "fishy" cake. I even got lucky and found decorative candies at the grocery store! After all those Tigger and Pooh cakes I decorated for the Kidlet's Birthdays, this one was easy*.

At first he happily ate the ice cream. Then he tasted FROSTING!

We got him this really neat rocking/ride on/ scoot on contraption. Once he figured out he could rock on it we couldn't get him off... (in case you're wondering, I changed his shirt 'cause the other one was covered in cake and ice-cream).

I feel the need. The need...for speed!

* I almost said that it was "a piece of cake" but I stopped myself. Lucky you!

Color Me Ouch!

This morning MP3 awoke with some interesting bed-hair. It appears that he turned into a shark over night. Oh yeah, he has natural faux-hawk hair...

However, when I took that photo this morning I didn't realize that I was actually taking a "before" photo. I can only assume that since spring has yet to be srung around here, MP3 took it upon himself to add a little color to the world (or more color to his Birthday party this Saturday, perhaps). At least, I think that's what he was thinking of as he went headfirst into a stool. Of course, he could have been thinking, "Oh no, oh no, oh no!" *

* "Oh no" might not be strong enough, actually. But since my Mom will probably read this I decided that this might be the best choice of words.

LOOK WHO'S ONE!!

Can you believe that it's been a year already? It's amazing how fast time flies when you don't sleep....
