My brother-in-law and I had an interesting conversation. It went like this...
George: I'll go on the slip 'n slide if you promise not to take any pictures.
Me: What?
G: I'll go on the slip 'n slide if you promise not to take any pictures!
M: Who?
G: You!
M: What?
G: Promise not to take any pictures!
M: Are you speaking English?
MP3 is very food oriented (for those who haven't noticed). He found a toy spoon and cup and spent quite a long time pretending to eat yummy food. At least I assume it was yummy food. At any rate, he kept saying "NUM!"
He stepped on a toy plastic picnic tablecloth. It stuck to his foot and he had a horrible time getting it off. Of course, he kept bending over and yanking on it while still standing on it which, for some reason, didn't seem to work. He had so much fun spinning in circles trying to get it off that he kept coming back for more. It was like baby-flypaper! During one of his many sticky experiences, Daddy came to his rescue and stepped on it for him...
A few months ago MP3 hit the take-things-out/ put-things-in OCD phase. Sorting laundry has now become damn near impossible around here. He helped me sort some laundry this morning....I don't think it's his size....
Just for Laughs
Other funny things that have happened around here recently:
A few months ago, MP3 tripped over his own feet and went head first into the arm of the couch. Since this is heavily padded, he didn't get hurt. Actually, he leaned into it and used his head as a stopper so he wouldn't fall over. After he regained his balance he looked at me, grinned, patted his head, pointed to the arm of the couch and LAUGHED! Then he softly banged his head into the armrest again and laughed even harder! I swear, you could tell he was saying, "Did you just see that? I used my head to keep from falling over!" or perhaps, "Look Ma! No hands!"
Yesterday MP3 climbed up a few steps on our front porch and sat on the steps (this is his favorite thing to do outside...he is so proud of himself that he can sit, with no help, on the steps). He looked at me, smiled (this is my cue that he's about to do something and I should be ready) and stepped forward. Since he has attempted to walk off the steps in the past I jumped forward, ready to catch him. Instead he stepped back, sat back down and laughed. Then he kept standing up, stepping forward and laughing at me. He thought it was the neatest thing ever! Are 14-month-olds suppose to be doing this? Seriously? I am so doomed....
