Our Summer So Far...

4th of July

For the 4th of July we had a little family get together at the Cottage. The water was... ummmm... tolerable, the brats (sausage type things, not the kids) were tasty, and the sun was shining! All in all, it was a great day.

MP3 really enjoys picking things up and handing them to people. This is much better than eating the things he finds.... Which to be fair, he only does when he thinks no one is looking.

The girls, as usual, spent most of their time on the paddle board and tube.

The Kidlet is trying to grow out her bangs. It seems that long bangs, water, sun, and sand work really well if you're trying out for the part of Medusa.

Even Grandpa came to the party!

Paigey just loved playing with her cousin!

YAY!

In case you are confused, this is his "MmHmm" face. In other words, someone just asked him a question and he is answering with a nod and "Mm-Hmm."

This is the cutest picture EVER!

National Cherry Festival

Normally I avoid downtown in the summer like the plague. Especially during Cherry Fest. The crowds, noise, lack of parking, slow moving traffic... *SCREAM* I detest it. However, since my dear friend keeps deciding to visit during Cherry Festival, and her mom lives within walking distance of downtown, I keep finding myself at the Open Space...
Our first day at the festivities happened to be "Heroes Day." There were firemen with ladder trucks, police, Coasties, all sorts of Heroes to meet. They were even letting the kids in/on their vehicles!

Wheeeeee!

She's been told that we better not see her here ever again. Driving my little delinquent to jail is my friend's son, known elsewhere as The Creep.

Okay, now this is better...

In the Army...making Daddy proud!

Helping out in the Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle.

Sitting together at the music stage.

Hammering away at the Habitat for Humanity's Nail-Driving speed contest. She didn't break the record for her age group, but she was within 30 seconds of it!

I have no idea how MP3 managed to fall asleep while walking down a root-covered footpath along the Boardman River, but he did.

Coming soon: our second day of sun-shiny fun in downtown TC! More splish-splashing at the cottage! Yippee!
